• 刀は、人の理と心を映す。

  刀は、時代や扱う人の意図に応じて姿を変えてきました。
  重さ、反り、長さ—すべてに意味が宿ります。
  何を求め、どう動くか。それを見極め、かたちに落とし込む。
  私にとって刀の美とは、合理の果てに現れるもの。
  機能と構造が無駄なく整ったとき、自然と美しさを帯びるもの。
  姿には、目的と思想、作り手のすべてが映る。考えが、そのままかたちとなるのです。

  Form Reflects Intention

  Throughout history, the sword has evolved in form—shaped by the times and the intent of those who wield it.
  Weight, curvature, length—each element carries meaning.
  What is the sword meant to achieve, and how will it move?
  Understanding this is the key to translating purpose into form.
  To me, the beauty of a sword is something that emerges at the end of pure rationality.
  When function and structure are refined without excess, beauty arises naturally.
  In its form, one can see its purpose, its philosophy, and the entirety of its maker.
  A sword is thought, made visible.

• 無心の果てに、刀は生まれる。

  刀鍛冶における「無心」は、思考の放棄ではありません。
  すべての工程を徹底して身につけ、理論を理解し尽くした先に、
  体と脳に鮮明に刻まれ、ようやく思考を手放せる境地。
  無心は、鍛錬と鍛錬の果てにだけ訪れる“到達点”。
  だから私は、最も集中できる冬のあいだ—12月から2月—だけ作刀を行います。
  主観を排し、外から自分を見るような感覚で槌を振るう時間。
  自分の思考を超えた場所に、本物の判断がある。
  計算のすべてを尽くしてなお、最後に宿る小さな“不完全さ”。
  そこにだけ人の手の重みと、刀としての個性が宿ると信じています。

  Where Control Ends, Creation Begins

  In swordsmithing, mushin—a state of “no-mind”—is not the absence of thought.
  It is a state reached only after fully internalizing every step of the process,
  mastering each theory, and engraving it into both body and mind—
  only then can one finally release conscious thought.
  Mushin is not the starting point, but a destination—
  a place one arrives at only through relentless discipline and repetition.
  That is why I forge swords only during the winter months—December to February—
  when my focus is at its sharpest.
  In this time, I strike the hammer as if observing myself from outside, free of ego or distraction.
  True judgment lies beyond personal thought.
  Even after every calculation is made, there remains a subtle imperfection—
  and it is within that imperfection that I believe the weight of the hand
  and the unique soul of the sword can be found.
• 型を持たず、問いを持つ。

  自分の刀を「こういうものだ」と定義しない。
  型は持たず、問い続ける。なぜ、打つのかを。
  覚える十年。忘れる十年。そして今、創る十年の入口に立っています。
  刀鍛冶の原点には、「天下泰平」への祈りがありました。
  刀は力の象徴でありながら、力を振るわぬための存在でもある矛盾。
  その矛盾を抱えるがゆえに、刀はただの道具になり得ない。
  刀としてのひとつの理想形は、形ある抑止であり、静かな対話の象徴。
  その強さを宿せるか。その問いを胸に、火床に火を入れています。

  No Form, Only Questions

  I do not define my swords as “this is what they are.”
  I hold no fixed form—I continue to question. Why do I forge?
  Ten years to learn.
  Ten years to forget.
  And now, I stand at the threshold of ten years to create.
  At the origin of swordsmithing lies a prayer—for peace throughout the land.
  A sword is a symbol of power,
  and yet it also exists to restrain the very use of that power.
  This paradox means that a sword can never be just a tool.
  One ideal form of the sword is that of deterrence made tangible—
  a quiet symbol of dialogue, not violence.
  Can that strength be truly embodied in the blade?
  With this question in my heart, I light the forge.
