そんな想いから、刀鍛冶の醍醐味を一日に濃縮した体験プログラムが生まれました。
真っ赤に熱した鉄を打ち、やすりで整え、刃を付け、焼きを入れ、砥ぐ。
一振りのナイフが生まれるまでの全工程を、あなた自身の手で仕上げていきます。
火と向き合い、音とともに鍛える時間は、

I struck my first piece of iron when I was thirteen.
It was a time when information wasn’t readily available like it is today.
Knowledge and techniques of swordsmithing weren’t easy to come by—I had to find my own way.
If I could go back and teach that younger version of myself...
With that thought, we created a one-day program that condenses the essence of Japanese swordsmithing into a hands-on experience.
Heat the steel until it's glowing red, shape it with a hammer, refine it with a file, harden the blade, and sharpen it.
You'll complete every step of the process yourself, from raw steel to a finished knife.
Facing the fire and forging to the rhythm of hammer strikes offers more than just craftsmanship—
it's a journey of self-discovery in a rhythm far from everyday life.

by Master Swordsmith FusataroThis experience is overseen by Fusataro, one of the few true Japanese swordsmiths certified by the Japanese government—an artisan who possesses both the world's oldest forging methods and the highest level of traditional craftsmanship.
Fusataro has held forging workshops around the globe and is known for his engaging instruction in English. Participants come from countries like the United States and Australia, making this one of Japan’s most renowned and accessible forging experiences. -

Unlike programs that focus only on a portion of the process, the Asano Kajiya Knife Experience lets you take part in every step: from hammering red-hot steel, to shaping, filing, hardening, and sharpening.
